It doesnt affect anyone who is buying if they see you sold one item or hundreds as to whether youll make a sale. Its terrible that they called you a whore. My attempts at eBay, Vinted, Mercari and Im sure one or two others were a no-go for me so Tradesy and Poshmark have been my staples for a year now. eBay may be the best for that still, if one has a good inventory. Instead, you need to get specific. If you pay what they are asking, list it for the msrp they suggest, then wait for an offer and Posh taking 20%, you might make a couple of bucks or break even! I cant understand people who reduce prices to where they are making NOTHING on a sale.
