Its good to see Theatr Brycheiniog being used as a Festival venue again and today it played host to a quintet led by the remarkable multi-instrumentalist and composer Charlotte Glasson. This piece saw Coote switching back to electric bass and featured more of a song like construction with solos coming from Glasson on tenor, Dorrell on trombone and Spedding on guitar. A word too for Greg Evans, who didnt get to solo but who formed an excellent rhythmic partnership with Sweeney and kept things moving in subtle but propulsive fashion from the back.
